Hello. You probably don't know me, and that's okay. I just wanted to express my opinion to you in a non-slanderous, adult way about your new relationship. I really wanted to talk to you about this....
I just wanted to tell you that I'm very frustrated about how you chose to handle your feelings for Logan. He was in an engaged relationship. Now, you two have feelings for each other.... I respect that... but you could just as easily have asked him to break it off with Liz first, to have faced his feelings in the honest way. You could even have spoken to Liz yourself.
Instead you chose to engage in sexually explicit activity with a man who was already in a committed relationship. You didn't give any thought to Liz, because you were getting what you wanted. I understand he had a part in this, trust me I will be talking to him my self. I don't want to change what happened; I don't really want him anywhere near her. They're clearly not good for each other, no matter his merits as an individual. So instead I'll enlighten you with some statistics: People who cheat once are incredibly likely to cheat again. He told Liz that he wasn't ready for a committed relationship because he's being shipped out...did he tell you that? Are you okay with the idea of him sleeping around while he's deployed?
Because I'm not going to a wedding that he wanted next year. I'm comforting the girl he broke into pieces so he could pursue a relationship with you. That's a choice you made, made every time you logged on to Twitter or sent him a wink-y text.
Again, this isn't an attack, but I wanted to make clear that that was very hurtful. So I really hope you learn from this experience. I really hope that you grow, so next time (if it ever happens again) you can handle this a little differently. I promise, there is much less of a burden if you express your feelings openly with the parties involved. I've done that myself, and I promise you feel much less like a shitty person. Less tainted by the sad disappointment everybody has when they find out--which I guess they might not, since Logan hasn't actually told anybody what he did for your or why. I'll let you draw your own conclusions on that, but you do realize it's probably because he's ashamed of how you guys handled this, too? How are you going to tell your story to other people? Are you going to laugh and change the subject? Tell the truth? Are you going to excuse your behavior by making up shit about Liz?
I understand you're very young. Maybe even confused. So I wanted to try and help you get through this and understand what your feelings are.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks,
Payton
